When it came to priorities, Obert C. Tanner
made appreciating people who do great work number one. Beginning eighty years ago, in the basement of his mother’s Salt Lake City home, Obert C. Tanner set out to remind others that appreciating efforts inspires results. As a professor, he believed students should receive more than a diploma when they graduated. He felt they deserved something tangible and memorable for their efforts. So he started selling class rings and pins, and later began manufacturing his own. In 1940, O.C. Tanner saw the potential for appreciation in corporate America and so began creating awards for business to recognize outstanding effort. Today, the company is an innovative force in the recognition industry, and partners to develop world-class cultures of appreciation within some of the world’s most successful companies. Our corporate headquarters are still in Salt Lake City, Utah, but we now have offices throughout North America, and worldwide headquarters in Burlington, Ontario; London, United Kingdom; and Tokyo, Japan. The philosophy behind the company’s success is simple: Talent thrives on being noticed. O.C. Tanner gives companies around the world the solutions to notice and appreciate their employees’ achievements. Because appreciation changes everything. |
